Baskets

In our assortment you will find a large collection baskets. Most of it consists of rattan baskets, we offer alongside a collection of willow baskets.
The rattan baskets are woven in-house in Indonesia.
Rattan comes from the rattan palm. It grows in the subtropics as a very long vine. These can be up to 200 meters long. By braiding techniques baskets or furniture are made of harvested stems.
Before the material is ready to be braided, young harvested stems are soaked under water for five weeks. Hereinafter, it is dried and the rattan gets its gray color. This is called Kubu rattan.
